Toasty Greetings

Happy New Year Everybody!

Sorry I have been absent on my blog. I had some minor surgery that took longer than expected to recover from. Then it was Christmas, then New Year... Blah Blah Blah. I’m here now. That’s what counts right? And I have an adorable card to share with you.

My Favorite Things had a new release yesterday and I placed a big order. Since I don’t have the new products yet I thought I would share something from their last release. FYI Pretty Pink Posh also had a new release as well as several others. I'm thinking of creating a new release page where you can see new product for my favorite companies. What do you think of this idea? Let me know in the comments.

I absolutely LOVE this stamp set. It’s called Toasty Greetings and is full of cute snowmen and penguins cooking up s’mores. I thought I would mix it up and do some Copic coloring and I have to say I probably won’t use Copics for a full background again. I’m sure it emptied my marker and it is so much more work than water coloring a background. But I love how the little snowman and penguin turned out.

When you are roasting marshmallows do they catch on fire? Mine always do and so did this poor little penguins. Just look at his cute face. I created the marshmallows with the Marvy Snow Marker. You dab it on and then heat it with your heat gun and it poofs up. To really make it look like a marshmallow I dabbed it with my Copics until they were the color I wanted being sure the texture still showed. Gives me a hankerin’ for marshmallows. Well, not the burnt ones.

The fire pit comes in the stamp set and I created the smoke and additional flames with the Copics. I love how the reflection of the fire turned out. For the cover piece I stamped a piece of Hero Arts Kraft paper using the Hero Arts wood grain background stamp by Lia Griffith and then cut it with MFT’s Stitched Cover-Up Companion – Horizontal.

I think this card could be used for any event all winter long.
Come back for my next post where I will reveal the Christmas Cards I made this year. I was late getting them done too.

One other note. I am now a Simon Says Stamp Affiliate (happy dance). So I would super duper appreciate it if you like what my cards that you please click the links I provide or click the Simon Says Stamp Banner at the top of the page whenever you plan on shopping. I'm saving up for video equipment so I can make YouTube videos for you guys.

Hugs,
Tammy

    1. Thanks Jean. As always you are always one of the first to make me feel good when I post something. You shouls add that Marvy Snow Marker to things you want me to show you when you come down next time to see me. It is so cool how it puffs up. My friend Joe says I'm not a card maker I'm a crafty alchemist. I like that. Maybe that's what I should have called my blog. Lol
