I'll Always Be Here For You

Happy Valentine's Day

Today I have 2 cards for you. They are the same design but in two different color schemes.  Please be sure to leave me a comment letting me which one you like best.

I had this whole post done and I don't know what happened, but poof, it disappeared. So I won't be linking up all of the products like I normally do.

Here is the first card and my favorite. I watercolored this adorable little elephant, the flowers and butterfly from My Favorite things Adorable Elephant stamp set on watercolor paper using Distress Ink.  The little hill is from another MFT set called Ewe Are The Best.  I think I will be using that stamp frequently with critters.

I love how the clouds turned out.  I used MFT's Stitched Cloud dies. These are great dies because they add stitching to both sides of the cut line making them really versatile.   But the really cool part is what is layered on top of the polka dot papers. It's a product called Vertigo by Imagine Crafts. It's a plastic sheet that has all of these swirls in it but it is completely flat and somewhat translucent. This style is called Taffeta.  It was a little tough to die cut. I had to help it separate in some places using a scissors. But honestly it wasn't a big deal.

On both cards I stenciled hearts on the background paper using Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts stencil with Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Texture Paste in the color Frosty Dawn.  I know it's difficult to see, but this stuff is beautiful. It reflects the colors beneath it wonderfully.

I finished up with some Wink of Stella on the tan card and Spectrum Sparkle on the gray card, some rhinestones and little confetti hearts that I colored with my Copic markers so they would match the sentiment.

I created a video comparing Wink of Stella and the new Spectrum Noir Sparkle brush pens.  You can view the video here.  It's my first video and I was a tad over enthusiastic, LOL.

That's all for me today. I hope you enjoy your Valentine's Day!

  1. I love your cards. The shading on that adorable elephant is awesome. I have never seen this medium you used for the clouds. Very cool!!

    1. Thanks Jen! Next time we have a play date remind me to show it to you.

  2. Another Adorable Card!! I thought I would like the blue one better. But up close I like them both!!

    1. Hi Karrye. I think in person the blue is prettier. But you we are both partial to blue. (:

  3. The stuff you used for the clouds is flat? I just love them!

  4. Hi Jean. Yep its completely flat. Pretty cool huh?
